FAQ

Skin Peels
Are the peels good for scarring?
For the client who wants to improve scarring, such as caused by acne, the peels are very successful. However, it may take more than one peel for the optimum result and, therefore, a longer period of time is required for this treatment. It may be recommended that 2 to 3 peels are needed, spread over 6 to 18 months.

Will I be able to go out in the sun after a peel?
The peels do resurface the skin. It is always recommended that clients wear a sun protection cream afterwards, of at least SPF 25. The skin is more susceptible to damage for 4 weeks after a peel, therefore, it is not advisable to go into the sun during this period.
As we know that the sun causes so much ageing to the skin and damage, it is recommended to all clients that they wear sun protection permanently.
If the client is going on holiday to a hot climate it is recommended that the peel be done on their return and not beforehand.

Will the peel get rid of pigmentation marks?
A lot of uneven pigmentation marks are caused by sun damage, these can be greatly improved by peel treatment. However, this is not always the case and, with all peels, there is a small risk of pigmentation marks as a result of the peel.
Dark skins such as Asian and black skins are more prone to this damage and therefore are not recommended for the treatment.

Dermal Facial Line Fillers
Are there any long term side effects with fillers?
At Injectix we only use bio-degradable products. This means that they are very low risk and do not have the long term side effects associated with other, permanent, fillers. Side effects experienced are in general things like: a small bruise to the injection site, a temporary swelling at the site, tenderness for a couple of days etc. The practitioner will explain in full prior to any treatment.

Can the fillers move to other areas?
The products which we use are all licensed and researched over many years. Once injected the product will sit in the space and cannot move or ‘float' elsewhere. Over a period of 3 -8 months on average the tissue will absorb the product and break it down slowly teh product will disappear.

Will it look obvious ('trout pout')?
The vast majority of clients who have lip enhancement do not want an obvious increase in size but rather a defined boarder which removes the fine lines (smokers Lines) above the lip. Very, very few clients want ‘inflated lips’. At Injectix we only use bio degradable products which are designed for the correction of the lip area, giving a soft, very natural result. There are other products out there which have long term risks and look very obvious when used, No such products are recommended or used at Injectix clinics.

Botox
Can the product build up in the body?
When injected, the product is attracted to the nerve endings, it is then metabolized and leaves the body completely within 21 days of administration. It is the result of the treatment that lasts 3 – 6 months on average, not the product. Therefore, it is impossible to have a build up of the product.

Is it Dangerous?
The product has been used since the 1960s for medical indications in very high dosages, all with no long term side effects ever recorded. For cosmetic purposes it has been used successfully since the 70’s. It is licensed in 13 countries for cosmetic use and has FDA approval, which is an extremely difficult license to achieve in the USA.

Will it freeze or paralyze my face?
The treatment will have the effect of relaxing the treated muscle allowing the lines to re-hydrate and smooth away. You will still be able to express your face however when your face it at rest the line will be greatly improved if not removed. The area feels exactly the same for the majority of clients. A small percentage reports a very slight restricted feeling in the area on the 2nd to 4th day after treatment.

Will my eyes or eyebrows droop if I have it?
The chance of this happening to a client is about 1 in 2,000.
The only way that this can happen is if the product is either injected into the muscle directly in line above the eye pupil, or more commonly, if the client massages or pushes the area around within the first four days after treatment. If the eye does droop it will last no longer than 3 weeks and will then correct itself.

Red Vein Treatment
Can I have this treatment if I suffer from varicose veins?
No the varicose veins should be treated first as thread vein treatment is not appropriate for this. You should see your own GP about them.

How long will it take before it works?
The results will take between 2 – 6 weeks. Therefore, treatment is not advisable just before a holiday. We recommend that it is done at least 6 weeks before. There is evidence to show that the treatment is more effective and works quicker if the client wears a medium to heavy support tight for the first few days post treatment.

Are they gone for good?
The procedure is immensely popular and successful. In the majority of cases the thread veins are permanently removed. However, we cannot guarantee this will be the case for every client.

LaserLipo
How does the LaserLipo work?

The LaserLipo works by focusing the cold red laser which permeates to the fat cells and triggers the cell membraneto break and release the fat from the cells.  The liqufied fat is drained through the lymphatic system.  The LaserLipo is safe, painless and completely non-invasive.

Where does the fat go?

LaserLipo treatments result in the liquefaction of fats, the liquefied fat is then drained through lymph drainage.  The effectiveness of fat drainage during and after treatment is dependant on proper functioning of the lymphatic system, which is responsible for removing wastes from the body.

What happens after each treatment?
One can resume normal activities immediately as the LaserLipo is completely non-invasive with no down-time whatsoever.  After the LaserLipo treatment it is encouraged that you do some sort of cardio activity to move things along ie. use a whole body vibration system, jumping on a mini-trampoline, Stairmaster, treadmill or a brisk walk.

What results can one expect from the LaserLipo treatment?
Male and female clients have found that those hard to reduce trouble spots, such as love handles, tummy bulge and saddlebags can be treated quite significantly within just a few treatments.

How many treatments are needed?
The standard treatment protocol is 2 weekly, 30 minute treatments for 4-6 weeks.

Maintenance treatments cabn be performed monthly after the full treatments have been completed or as determined by the client's needs and clinical technician expertise.
